Chris Christie, New Jersey’s tell-it-like-it-is Governor, announced his presidential campaign today.
After starting his political career working on Thomas Kean’s gubernatorial campaign when he was only fifteen years old, Christie went on to practice law, become a county legislator, and serve as US Attorney for New Jersey. Throughout his career, Christie earned a reputation as a plainspoken, tough-on-crime fiscal conservative, resulting in his election and landslide reelection as Governor. Christie was also elected Chairman of the Republican Governors Association in 2013, where he has raised millions of dollars and campaigned across the country for fellow GOP officeholders.
Christie was considered a potential candidate in 2012, but did not run, and was a keynote speaker at the 2012 Republican National Convention.
