Public support for cancer research and prevention is one of the few issues that unites members on both sides of the aisle. But are politicians as forthcoming when it comes to their connections with big tobacco?

We found the five members of Congress with the strongest ties to cancer research and advocacy based on contribution records and candidate websites. While this is admirable, we also found that these same members received campaign donations from Phillip Morris, one of the "big three" American tobacco corporations.

Topping our list is Representative Peter Roskam of Illinois. He's closely followed by Senator Michael Crapo and Representatives Michael Fitzpatrick, Darrell Issa, and Elijah Cummings.
