We all know that the hosts of the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner can dish out the jokes, but how about the dollars?

Our team examined the political giving history for previous White House Correspondents’ Dinner hosts and performers to see who doles out the most and to who, and the results were surprising.

Topping the charts for political donations was Bill Maher, who has donated over $120,000, followed by former comedian, and current US Senator, Al Franken who has contributed $61,000. Finishing a not-so-distant third was comedian Wanda Sykes who has given out over $50,000, mostly to causes that promote marriage equality throughout the United States.
