Why you should support this campaign

"Our campaign is grassroots, all-volunteer effort to build a social movement to elevate our neighborhoods out of despair and create long-term community empowerment. It isn't just about an election. It is about transformation. We aim to change the culture of our city.”

- Adriana Cabrera for L.A. City Council District 9

About Me:

I was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. I am a daughter of two immigrant parents who migrated from Puebla Mexico. I am also the first out of my family of seven to graduate from high school and college. I received my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Chicano/a Studies and Political Science with an emphasis in Public Policy & Management. Currently, I'm studying to obtain my Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership Policy Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration at California State University, Northridge.

For many years I have had the opportunity to work with South Central community members, local government agencies, and small business owners to raise awareness of the social issues we encounter. In particular, I have worked with young adults who are soon to be the future and prospect citizens of our community. As active members in our community, it is our responsibility to bring equity by breaking the barriers constricting our community from thriving to build a better future for ourselves, our children, our parents, our grandparents, and everyone else.

Join us as we move towards building a better future; a future that places our communities' interest and benefits overall.

I commit to continue advocating for:

ϖ Creation of quality jobs in the district

ϖ Developing a college-going culture

ϖ Increase of technological resources for local businesses

ϖ Supporting safe spaces for youth & the LGBTQA community

ϖ Housing Justice: homelessness & affordable housing

ϖ Development of healthy and green spaces

ϖ Worker, immigrant & women’s rights

ϖ An all elected community police control board
