Why you should support DeRay Mckesson

Baltimore is, and has always been, a city of promise and possibility. If we are to reach that promise and possibility we cannot rely on traditional pathways to politics and the traditional politicians who walk those paths. We have seen and lived through enough lofty promises and vague plans. We must demand more from our leaders and local government.

I am running to be the 50th Mayor of Baltimore in order to usher our city into an era where the government is accountable to its people and is aggressively innovative in how it identifies and solves its problems.

Join me as we build a Baltimore where more and more people will live, work, and thrive.

What your contribution means

You often hear about the impact of money in politics and the need for campaign finance reform. I knew these were important issues -- but I didn't really understand the urgency until I started to run for office myself. When you make a contribution to our campaign, you're helping our campaign not just with financial support -- you're also making a contribution so that I can spend more time speaking with voters, walking Baltimore's neighborhoods, going to church, and talking about what I will do as mayor. Tonight at midnight is our first big deadline -- we'll file a fundraising report that will send a message about the strength of our campaign. And I want everyone watching to know that you're with me again. You've already contributed, and I'm so thankful for that. I want to ask you again before tonight's deadline: Please make one more contribution to our campaign now before tonight's midnight fundraising deadline. https://www.crowdpac.com/campaigns/1577/support-deray-mckesson-for-baltimore-md-mayor-primary?ref_code=crowdpac160315-1 Thanks for being a part of this, - DeRay

Tuesday's deadline

One of the things I'm most proud of since announcing that I was running for Mayor of Baltimore is how many people have stepped up to be a part of this campaign. So far more than 3,600 people have made a contribution, at an average online contribution of about $50 a piece. That's real power. Tuesday night is the most important deadline of our campaign so far. We're going to have to file a report that shows how much we've raised as of 11:59pm that night. The number we report will be a message that our campaign's ideas are backed by real folks who want to see Baltimore recover. Please help our campaign before Tuesday's midnight deadline with a contribution now: https://www.crowdpac.com/campaigns/1577/support-deray-mckesson-for-baltimore-md-mayor-primary?ref_code=crowdpac160314_am1 What I hope to show by our first big deadline is that our ideas -- safe schools, community investment, and innovative leadership -- are backed by a huge number of people, and that together we can win this election. I would be honored if I could count on you before this huge deadline Tuesday night.
