Monessen is a former steel city, on the Monongahela River, south of Pittsburgh. It has been trying to reinvent itself for sometime, and needs a boost of energy, and a fresh face.

Matt Shorraw is a 4th Generation Monessenite, and has been involved in numerous local and regional organizations. Matt is dedicated to better connecting to the Pittsburgh region, and bringing much-needed resources to the city for community and economic development, neighborhood stabilization, and other opportunities.

Matt sees the potential in Monessen, and strongly believes that the city he loves so dearly can and will be able to reinvent itself. Matt will strive to bring about positive and progressive change in the city of Monessen, for all the residents. He plans to bring everyone together, so Monessen can be "a better place in which to live, work, and prosper". Matt Shorraw will be a "Voice For Monessen".

Matt was recently elected as the City of Monessen's Democratic Nominee for Mayor. Please contribute to the campaign, which will help fund campaigning for the November 2017 Election.
