Riverview Schools Committee (RSC) is currently preparing for the existing levies to be on the ballot for renewal in February 2018. The renewal levies are the Maintenance and Operations Levy and the Technology Levy. There could also be a Transportation levy. The School Board will announce the levy amounts in October or November of 2017.

Local levy dollars have never been more important, and have become necessary funding. In 2017 the maintenance and operations levy is $8,358,333 of the general operating fund of the Riverview School District. Levies are the second highest portion of the general operating fund. All students benefit since the majority of expenditures (78%) from the general operating fund are used to provide instruction and instruction support.

It takes funding to perform a successful public schools levy campaign. In 1990 citizens created Riverview Schools Committee to solicit contributions and conduct the campaign to pass bonds and levies for Riverview School District. State law prohibits school districts from actively promoting the passage of bonds or levies. In addition, school district funds or resources cannot be used to promote the passage of bonds and levies. RSC is funded 100% from donations.

Your contributions are used to fund informational materials and promotional activities. Past campaigns have included yard signs, banners and promotional mail pieces. RSC is 100% volunteer run. Riverview Schools Committee is over half-way there; Thank you!

Many many thanks to those who have donated and endorsed our campaign!  Thank you so much and we'd love your help in spreading the word. Even a $10 donation helps us to keep printing material in the hopes of educating locals about registering to vote and to vote yes for our school levies and bonds.  Thank you!
