Help us recruit independent candidates to run for office and #HackTheSystem in 2018!

Our political system no longer works for the people. Partisan extremists and special interests have hijacked our government for their own benefit – nothing gets done, and our problems only get worse. It’s time for the majority of Americans in the sensible center to fight back.

The Centrist Project's mission is to elect a handful of independent leaders to narrowly divided legislatures where they can deny both parties an outright majority and use their leverage to forge common ground solutions. It’s a “hack” to the system that can wrestle control away from the political establishment and return government to We, the people.

We need your help to make it happen.

We have identified qualified candidates in 2018 target states who have a track record of independent leadership and would be able to run viable campaigns. Now our task is to convince them to run by demonstrating our strong grassroots support.

Your contribution will only be collected if:

  • At least one candidate decides to run for statewide office as an independent;
  • The candidate signs on to the Centrist Project's Principles that include both fiscal and environmental responsibility;
  • The candidate is vetted by the Centrist Project to have (i) unquestionable personal integrity and (ii) the ability to run a credible & viable campaign.

The 2018 election may seem far away, but we only have the next few months to recruit our candidates.

Please pledge your contribution today, and help us make some history!

Heads Up: Your Pledged Donation Will Be Collected Tomorrow

Dear Friend,

Thank you so much for your support of the Centrist Project's "Pledge Support to Independent Candidates in 2018" Crowdpac crowdfunding campaign.

As the conditions of our campaign have been met, your credit card will be charged tomorrow at 5:00 pm ET.

Our goal was to raise donation pledges from supporters just like you so that we can support common sense, independent candidates for statewide office in 2018.

We said that we would only collect these funds if:

  • At least one candidate decides to run for statewide office as an independent;
  • The candidate aligns with the Centrist Project's Principles that include both fiscal and environmental responsibility;
  • The candidate is vetted by the Centrist Project to have (i) unquestionable personal integrity and (ii) the ability to run a credible & viable campaign.

So far, we have found TWO candidates who meet this criteria, and we have endorsed both of them.

  1. Terry Hayes - independent candidate for Governor in Maine
  2. Governor Bill Walker - independent candidate for Governor in Alaska

We announced our endorsement of Governor Walker today, and he will be our guest speaker on a conference call TONIGHT at 7:30 pm ET.

Click here to RSVP and participate in a conversation with Governor Bill Walker (I-AK) .

Your support of the Centrist Project Election Fund (a federal Super PAC) through this crowdfunding campaign will allow us to help these and other independent candidates in 2018. (In accordance to federal campaign law, we will disclose all of our donors to the Federal Election Commission.)

Thank you SO much for your support!

If you have any questions or concerns -- or would like to cancel your pledge before 5:00 pm ET tomorrow -- please reach out to Andy Szekeres, National Finance Director (andy@centristproject.org | 703- 962-1354).

We look forward to keeping you up to speed on our progress.

Sincerely,

Nick
