I know that working families and small businesses can't  afford higher taxes, especially in these tough economic times. As a member of City Council, I will fight against any new tax increases, cut waste, fraud and abuse from the budget, and work to bring in jobs to the City of Dover.

Poliquin files to run for City of Dover 1st District Council Seat “I will advocate for taxpayers”

Dover, Del. – Ronald G. Poliquin filed with the City Clerk’s office to run for the council seat left vacated after Jim Hosfelt was elected to Kent County Levy Court. The Special Election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

        “My main priority is to stand up for taxpayers.” said Poliquin. “We need to hold the line on taxes, squeeze out government waste, and implement initiatives to create and keep jobs in Dover.” “I will also continue the tradition of outstanding constituent services set by former council members Jim Hosfelt and Beverly Williams.”

        “I pledge to respect every dollar that comes into the government’s coffers because it’s your money at stake, not the politicians, says Poliquin.”

        Poliquin is a Dover attorney with the law firm of Brown, Shiels & Beauregard. Poliquin is also the head coach of Holy Cross School Chess Team. Poliquin’s teams recently won both the Delaware Elementary School Championship and Delaware Catholic Youth Championship.  He is President of The Meadows Homeowners Association and former board member of Habitat for Humanity. Poliquin is married to Maria Poliquin and they have a four children, 9 year old son Ronin, 7 year old Lillian, 4 year old Luna, and 2 year old Rocco. They are parishioners at Holy Cross Church.
