My Ride to Vote is funding free roundtrip rides to the polls for the runoff election in Georgia's Sixth Congressional District. We need your help.

My Ride to Vote believes that all citizens should be able to participate in the political process. Our mission is to provide rides to the polls on Election Day to traditionally underrepresented voters who wouldn't be able to vote without a ride. These voters are the voices who have been systematically silenced in Georgia and in the halls of power.

We've partnered with Planned Parenthood Action, New Georgia Project, Progressive Turnout Project, Spread the Vote, House Majority PAC and Voto Latino to spread the word about our rides. We'll be knocking over 100,000 doors in GA-06 to make sure we reach every voter who needs a ride to the polls. Read more about our campaign in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The math is simple: $25 = 1 roundtrip ride. By donating $25 or whatever you can, you can ensure that at least one new voter has a voice in Georgia. Election Day is June 20.

Our goal: raise $75,000 to provide rides to the polls for every voter that needs one. Can we count on your support?

My Ride to Vote in the New York Times

My Ride to Vote was mentioned Saturday in a New York Times story about voter registration and "get out the vote" efforts in GA-06. MRTV is partnering with organizations across the district to reach underrepresented voters and ensure every citizen has a ride to the polls. From the article:

The groups know there are minority voters out there to persuade: Census figures from 2015 show that the district is about 30 percent nonwhite. But minorities accounted for only about 17 percent of the April vote, according to an analysis provided by the New Georgia Project.

Nse Ufot, executive director of the New Georgia Project, said her teams were knocking on the doors of hundreds of minority residents’ homes per day, offering free Uber rides to the polls and information on early voting sites.

But their pitch, she said, is not overtly anti-Trump. Ms. Ufot argued that black people, so inured to the reality of discrimination, were just not as frightened as liberal whites by Mr. Trump.

“It’s just not possible to scare black people,” she said, raising the specter of recent police shootings, “when they’re dying at the hands of the state.”

My Ride to Vote's work to protect voting rights is more urgent now than ever. Early voting starts Tuesday. Election Day is less than four weeks away.

Can we count on you to fund a ride to the polls today?
