Dave Belote is a husband, father, veteran, businessman and native son. After spending twenty-four years serving his country, Dave retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Colonel. During his career Dave directed air strategy in Iraq during the Battle of Fallujah and later commanded Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, the largest fighter base complex in the country, overseeing a 3,600-person organization with a $600 million budget. He was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legions of Merit, and two Bronze Stars for his service. Upon retiring from the military, Dave created and led the Defense Department's renewable energy siting office, then served as the vice president of a Virginia-based wind and solar energy developer. Dave combined his interest and experience to found his own consulting company focused on the nexus of defense and renewable energy.

Graduates of Virginia public schools and universities, Dave and his wife, Pam, reside in their hometown of Virginia Beach, near their three adult sons and both sets of their parents.
