Why you should support Catherine Trujillo

Albuquerque is a beautiful city with some of the best museums, restaurants, and events that draws thousands of tourists each year to see the culture and diversity our city offers. However, Albuquerque citizens see a different story. Our City is facing low graduation rates, high crime rates, and high unemployment rates which all affect our growth.

Trujillo is dedicated and focused to work hard for Albuquerque on the issues we are facing. We need strong leadership and a strong voice as the City faces issues in public safety, our economy and our future.

Born and raised in Albuquerque to a hard-working middle-class family, Catherine shares her family’s values of community, commitment, and strong work ethic. Trujillo says, “Action and community engagement are key components of development, continued strength and the ability of a community to prosper.”

A current Vice President of the Taylor Ranch Neighborhood Association, Board Member for the Albuquerque Center for Hope and Recovery, volunteer for local food banks and churches, Trujillo has tirelessly dedicated herself to Albuquerque and its future.  As a former volunteer and mentor with the Hispanic Youth Symposium, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Trujillo understands the importance of taking action to accomplish goals and to see dreams come to fruition.

Trujillo is a Business Consultant in workforce development as the liaison between employers, employees, and job seekers to help lower Albuquerque’s unemployment rate, increase job retention and promote economic development. In her profession, Trujillo has the privilege of helping each of her clients gain the essential workforce training they need to succeed in the workforce.

A graduate of Hope Christian, Central New Mexico Community College and the University of New Mexico, Trujillo has deep ties to Albuquerque. She is currently pursuing a dual-degree for her Master’s in Business and a Master’s of Science in Leadership in hopes of using her personal experience and higher education to make Albuquerque a better place to live.
