Statement for 2017 Election

It is with much excitement that I announce my intention to run for the Cambridge School Committee in 2017. As a lifelong Cambridge resident, the parent of a rising junior kindergartener, a former Cambridge Public School employee, and a current member of the City's Police Review and Advisory Board, I believe my wide range of experiences make me uniquely qualified to serve all Cambridge families if elected to the Committee.

"We've come so far, we've got so far to go"

Greetings all,

I'd like to thank everyone who has donated to the campaign so far. We've raised over $1,500 in the first six weeks! We are on the way to our fundraising goal of $10,000.

With 12 candidates in the race, this is the largest candidate pool for School Committee since 1999. With Richard Harding running for City Coucil, this election holds the possibility that no CRLS grads could be on the School Board in January (there are 3 challengers who are CRLS graduates).

In addition to donating, I'd ask you to get involved in any of the ways below that you'd feel comfortable:

1) If local, door knocking in your neighborhood with me. If not local, send a letter/email to friends in Cambridge asking them to support my campaign.

2) Host a fundraising coffee.

3) Be involved in Election Day GOTV activities.

Thank you again for your support!

Peace,

Laurance Kimbrough
