Hello! My name is Bryan Rossi, a resident of the great state of Illinois. For the past few years, I have spent my life teaching in Chicago Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher. Through my time in the 3rd largest school district in the nation, I have learned how truly unequal this country has become. Between Trumps obstructionism to Rauner's refusal to work with the legislature, Illinois needs a fresh new face to lead us into the 21st Centry.
There are so many challenges facing this great state. Equality is still just a dream. Schools in Illinois are as segregated as they ever have been, the rich keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer. I have worked with families who have done all the right things and still cannot afford the simple necessities needed to raise a child.
I believe in equality, and believe that America is NOT representing equality right now. RIght now, we have a country where our brother and sisters of color are actually afraid to leave their houses because they fear for their lives. We have members of the LGBT community who continue to face isolation and harrasement in the workplace, and we continue to have limited access for those below the poverty line to have any chance of life in the middle class.
This is what I stand for, what I truly believe in: America is a country for everyone. While things are difficult right now, I believe that when we come together and work hard, we can achieve greatness and help move this county in The Right Direction.
