I envision a Michigan where every child can flourish. That means all Michiganders have access to dignified work that pays a living wage, to safe and reliable housing, to affordable childcare, and to the freedom to live as they see fit. That means every child has access to an exceptional education and a pathway to a fruitful career.

For me, this is personal. Michigan built me. Michiganders are my family, my friends, and my neighbors. We deserve bold, inspired, and forward-thinking leadership - the type of leadership that has made Michigan the bastion of the automobile, the birthplace of the middle class, and the Arsenal of Democracy.

“I endorse Abdul El-Sayed because he is local and aware of issues that I am concerned about. Also, I would like to see more diversity (woman & POC) in our political system. We need more young people too!”

“I endorse Abdul El-Sayed for Governor of Michigan because I admire his willingness to believe in the power of persuasion and in human decency. For him to be a Muslim-American running in a state won by Trump and that is heavily with blue-collar white workers, it takes a person of sincere compassion to look beyond demographic labels in search for common dreams and humanity. As he admits himself, some of his own family members are Trump voters and that people would give him a change so long as they are given proper exposure and attention. In a current political climate that is focused less on persuasion and more on base mobilization, it is refreshing to see a person campaigning on his beliefs to all who are willing to hear him, even if pundits and consultants believe it to be a fools errand.”
