Thirty years ago, Uptown gave birth to a brand spanking new baby: me, Wale Emmanuel, no relation.

Having spent much of my youth in boarding schools and with surrogate families, I've gotten to know the diverse values of my neighbors in Uptown. I’ve also been significantly influenced by the vibrant culture of Uptown. I've seen the greatness that can come from our neighborhood, and I've seen the pitfalls.

Having learned from these roots in my youth and through my entrepreneurial endeavors as an adult, I am uniquely qualified, ready, and eager to serve and sustain my community as Alderman. It is a commitment to people, not buildings, that guides my platform.

As councilman, I plan to focus my efforts on creating and sustaining economic opportunity across the spectrum.

This will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Commercial Investment in 1st generation entrepreneurs, enabling tradeshows and positioning Uptown as a World Trade Village for Small Businesses.
  • Collegiate housing to build international relationships among scholars and catalyse an artistic revival in Uptown.
  • MusicaLÉconomy Accelerators to enable talent and aspiration in Uptown youth while attracting Chicagoland artists.
  • Establish new and renevoate old cultural landmarks meaningful to 'Greater Uptown' residents that boost tourism and the reach of our community partners.

Facts About Me.

  1. Public Accountant, as a result of my professional bachelors education in Accounting from DePaul University and profressional training from Ernst & Young.
  2. IntellectualProperty Developer, I once upon a time pursued Masters of Science Degree at Chicago-Kent College of Law, in the Science of Intellectual Property Management & Markets.
  3. Founder, Owner and President. The Sports Economy Schools & College

“A passionate man, to say the least. To fight the long uphill battle in corrupted politics, you need the drive to do so. Your need to be fueled by the desire to make others lives better as your represent those that cannot fight on their own. Wale, fight's against those that would take away the tools people need to make their lives better. He fights not for hand outs, but a hand up to success for those that are willing to reach for it...and pull themselves up.”

“I endorse Wale Emmanuel: Chicago City Counsel because I cannot think of any other person that is as qualified as Wale. Although I do not know him as well as I would like to, it was apparent to me the first time I talked to him in depth, that he stands out and is different from others. Wale carries many remarkable attributes. One being his determination and drive to accomplish what most people would write off and impossible or simply not worth the effort. His passion is always accompanied by his compassion. It was clear, after having a couple inspiring conversations, that he has an extreme amount of empathy for the less fortunate, not just sympathy. In my opinion, there is a distinction between the two and Wale's empathy is strong and comes naturally. I believe his empathy may drive him to get things done, practical tasks, whatever they may be and whatever resources are lacking and whatever obstacles are up against him, he always tackles the issue with enlightening optimism. Nothing is too difficult for Wale. His open mind is rational yet he uses his emotions to fuel his intentions and is entirely practical. Always sees the good in people and, moreover, once he recognizes the good he has a heart that enables you to realize the good in yourself. The more love and positive vibes you release out into the world, not only will that love come back to you but it grows and spreads from person to person exponentially. I have no doubt in my mind that Wale Emmanuel can provide the right kind of progress public service so desperately needs. His deep-seated experience in working with every day people proves he has the potential to accomplish meaningful changes in the lives of the people of Chicago.”
