I have been interested in politics since 2007, when I attended a rally for Barack Obama. I was only 13 years old on that frigid day in Bettendorf, Iowa. Then-Senator Obama was the first person to truly inspire me to become politically active.
While I was in college, my interest in politics drove me to become involved in causes that I cared about. Because I believe that politicians should be accountable to the people, not large donors, I served as an activist in a movement which helped to make Illinois the 3rd state in the nation to call for a Constitutional Convention to overturn Citizens United. I have also volunteered for Congressional races, ultimately becoming Communications Director for a Congressional campaign against Speaker Ryan while I was in college in Wisconsin in 2016.
Over the past two years, I became greatly inspired by Senator Bernie Sanders and other progressives like Keith Ellison, Elizabeth Warren, Jason Kander, and Tulsi Gabbard. It is my desire and my goal to bring a bold progressive agenda to Illinois.
A few components of my plan for the future of the State of Illinois include:
- $15 an hour minimum wage
- Fighting for Single Payer Healthcare
- 100% green power statewide by 2050
- Progressive income tax system as opposed to the current flat income tax rate
You may ask why you should donate to my campaign. I was born in Illinois and I truly love my State. I am committed to helping the great State of Illinois realize all of its vast potential while making sure that every resident is able to live healthy, earn a livable wage, and ensure that every person in my State has their voice heard.
Funds raised through this funding page will be used to purchase yard signs, hand outs and other campaign materials in order to help me get my message out throughout my District.
