I'm Kiko Rex, and I'm running as an independent in Arizona's 9th
Congressional District with a new goal in mind: an actual democracy.
We've played the "republic" and "party" game to its conclusion; that
conclusion is a bevy of the mega wealthy deciding policy based on moral idiocy and American exceptionalism. Both of the major parties are to blame for our woes, through assisting the financial, real estate, pharmaceutical, military contractor, and insurance sectors with bailouts, tax breaks, corporate welfare, and allowance to write bills that maximize profits for the top brass of these companies while fleecing those who work for a living e.g. by allowing corporate raiders to send jobs elsewhere and raid pension funds.

Here is a summary of what I'm proposing:

-The end of our pay-to-play, rich-protecting-the-rich federal government. I am currently writing a bill with contents that dismantle the system we have in place by making congress more of a "jury duty" system than the long-term representative system we have now. There simply is no reforming the system we have in a way that will deter unfair campaign finance. I also call for a complete abolishment of the senate, as their static number per state does not uphold the principle of "one person one vote" (e.g. the population of California has as many senators as the small population of Wyoming), and a similar end to the electoral presidential system, which has long been a tool of rich landowners to keep lower classes out of the white house. The bill will be complete well ahead of election day, 2018.

-A new system, starting with the voters of AZ-9, wherein I don't "call all the shots" upon taking office. The new system is based on participatory politics, and it works really easily. Initially, I will host town halls in-person or online via Skype (or a similar service) where any registered voter can attend and assist me in how to vote on future bills. Ultimately, citizen councils will be set up. This can be anywhere from 25-150 people (a common neighborhood) getting together. A website will be set up to introduce each bill, for example, and your council will debate on how to vote for it. A consensus will be reached, or a majority vote taken if no consensus can be reached. One representative chosen from your group, will go to a higher council of people chosen from lower councils, and the same thing will occur. Eventually, it will get to a level where there are 3 to 4 people in addition to me, the congressman. We will have a streaming, recorded meeting (for
transparency's sake), where we debate based on how the votes came in from below. I will make the choice based on that, not on lobbyist money; in fact, I propose for myself the donation of a majority of what will be my ridiculous salary of $174,000 to go toward logistics in the lower councils.

The purpose of this system is to show the country participatory politics (ACTUAL democracy) can work, and have it ultimately replace the system we have This will eliminate the influence of lobbyists and the need for campaign finance reform or term limits, as politicians will be a thing of the past! Everyone who can vote can go to a citizen council, and everyone in a citizen council is eligible to go to the next level!

Help me get into congress, so I can introduce the bill that will make all this possible.
