WE NEED YOU to donate!

MEASURE A is a parcel tax that must pass by a WHOPPING 2/3 VOTE in the San Geronimo Valley

In 2009, the parcel tax vote ONLY PASSED BY 8 VOTES!

Your donation will allow us to get the word out for the midterm election, when many voters stay home. Any money raised that is not spent on the campaign will be donated to LEAP.

EVERY VOTE COUNTS

Your Contribution = MORE VOTERS on Nov. 7

More people need to know that Yea on A means a RENEWAL of what the SGV has supported since 1987.

THE LOSS OF $650,000 IN LOCAL EDUCATION FUNDING IS AT STAKE

A LOSS WOULD BE DISASTROUS FOR THE PEOPLE OF OUR VALLEY

PLEASE VOTE YEA on A!

GOOD THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR VOTE:

Parents in our district are doing their part. Last year they contributed a record-breaking $125,000 in donations. Yet, without the parcel tax, our district will be severely underfunded.

California is 46th in the nation in per-pupil spending. Without the parcel tax the district will be forced to layoff nearly half of the teaching staff.

“The Lagunitas School District is a special place for kids to come of age. An education here is so much more than just books and academics. It is also a nurturing of the heart so that when a kid graduates from here, they can take their place in the world and thrive.”

  • Helen Ferlino endorsed

“I have always felt the valley worked together to support all ages. Now our schools need us to work together to ensure our district stays vibrant and strong and has the resources they need to educate our children. Yea on A!”

  • Rebecca Teague endorsed

“I endorse Measure A because healthy schools make healthy neighborhoods. Every Valley kid deserves a great education that will prepare them for high school and beyond.”

  • Anne McClain endorsed

“Our school district is at the center of our community. It provides a wonderful education for our children. All of us have a stake in the children of our community. Our school has a long track record of prudent spending and careful management of funds as well as providing an education with loving attention to each and every child. Our schools in California are vastly underfunded and we have to fill in with a parcel tax. This is one tax that I am happy to pay. I see where the $ goes--it goes to our teachers and classrooms. Our two daughters got a great educational foundation in the Lagunitas School District and I would like to see that continue for future generations. Please support Measure A!”

  • John Carroll endorsed

“Both of my kids attended Lagunitas from Kindergarten on. One graduated ready to go when she got to Drake and the other is in 7th grade. Lagunitas needs this funding to keep this great school going!”

  • Dianne Ploof endorsed

“I support Measure A because our local school depends on it. The funds from Measure A help pay for teachers and aides. With Ross Valley schools so impacted we need our Valley School!!”

  • Laura Shain endorsed

“Support for Measure A is necessary to keep our beloved San Geronimo Valley school district thriving. Without continued parcel tax funding, the Lagunitas School District faces losing important staff, increasing class size, and cutting treasured programs for our students. We need the community's continued support in November!”

  • James Sanders endorsed

“The Yea on A campaign to pass Measure A in the San Geronimo Valley is vital to the financial health of the local public schools. If Measure A fails, classroom size will skyrocket and quality of education will dramatically fall. A corollary of this will be reduced property values as our valley will be a less desirable place to buy a home.”

  • Catherine Granville endorsed

“My third kid will have come all the way through this district (k-8) by 2021. There is no other place like it to prepare a human for life. I support Measure A to keep class size small, ensure quality, project based, and child centered learning, and because I want to remain proud of how the community comes together for those purposes. JOIN ME”

  • Meegan Lee Ochs-Potter endorsed

“Our school is really special, and one of the most essential assets is small class sizes. I am hopeful that you will consider supporting our school by voting Yea on A this November, and by helping us fund our small budget to ensure our success in passing this essential measure. If you are voting yes, please send me an e-mail so I can add you to our yes voter list!”

Yea on A Needs You!!!

A huge thanks to all of you who have donated so far. Including the donations received by mail, we have raised $3700!!! We still need another $2800 to be able to fund all the efforts we have planned to insure the parcel tax renewal (Measure A) passes on Nov 7.

Please take a moment and forward this email to anyone you know who cares about the Lagunitas School District and the San Geronimo Valley!!!

https://www.crowdpac.com/campaigns/339064/yea-on-a-for-the-lagunitas-school-district

This money raised is going toward printing mailers, postage, a database of voters, registration fees, and signs. We also hired an experienced campaign coordinator who has helped us build a plan and stay on track. We would love your help phone banking every Monday night at 7:00 at the San Geronimo Valley Presbyterian Church.

Please remember how devastating it will be to children, families and staff if 5 out of 12 teachers have to be laid off. Strong, vibrant communities care about education!!!

Thanks for spreading the word - talk to your neighbors, forward this email, and REMEMBER TO VOTE NOV 7th!!!
