John is a business man, entrepreneur, author, columnist and former radio show host on WCAP and regular guest contributor to many local radio shows. MacDonald has appeared on Boston Herald Radio, Fox and Friends, The Howie Carr Show, The Michelle McPhee Show, and many more.

MacDonald has vast experience in management consulting, with a concentration on strategic advice in marketing, business development, public relations, economic and real estate development. John has a long career of success, achieving record results in the communications field and spending over 20 years managing marketing budgets, driving the bottom line in the financial services, restaurant, retail and real estate industries.

John MacDonald is a veteran of the United States Air Force. John served as a firefighter and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. During John’s time in the military he received the National Defense Medal, Outstanding Unit with Valor, Southwest Asia Defense Medal, Saudi Liberation of Kuwait Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. MacDonald was also a member of the Davis Monthan AFB Fire Department, which was recognized as the best Fire Department in the Air Force and John was part of crews that received recognition for outstanding performance and leadership.

John is a fierce veterans advocate and serves as a board of director and spokesman for the non-profit 501C3, Veterans Assisting Veterans (VAV). VAV is 100% volunteer and donates 100% of all proceed raises to veterans in need. VAV has provided countless veterans with resources that the government promised, but too often fails to provide.

John has a record of challenging the status quo in both political parties. As a Republican, John stands for honest government, taking care of veterans, the elderly, strong education, pro law enforcement, pro-labor, working with Governor Baker on state government reform and taking care of the Massachusetts Tax Payer… first!

John stands against 40% pay raises for greedy career politicians, he stands against spending 1.8 Billion in Massachusetts on illegal aliens, and stands against the extreme progressive political views of his opponent.

MacDonald is also the proud father of two teenage daughters and resides in Lowell, MA.

Voters say this about John MacDonald

There are very few in the state of Massachusetts or in America that have helped, supported and fought for veterans more than John MacDonald. Please if you support our military/uniformed services past or present, to include first responders, consider donating/supporting this true Patriot in his efforts on becoming a State Senator. Beacon Hill and Massachusetts needs him.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Looking for new leadership on state issues

Although I am a Republican, I have respected the Lowell Democrats representing me in the State Senate. I think of the late Dan Leahy. While I certainly had many differences with the senator, I remember when he took on Fidelity Investments as they threatened to move out of Boston unless they got huge tax breaks. He showed some guts, and I think he was right.

Steve Panagiotakos provided terrific representation. The hallmark of his service was his leadership in standing up to some of the more extreme elements in his own party, particularly on fiscal issues.

I had high hopes for Eileen Donoghue. She is obviously an intelligent, articulate person with substantial experience. I have no doubts about her integrity; however, I have been disappointed. The only time I saw her front and center on an issue was her attempt to bring the Olympics to Boston — an idea that I consider to be one of the worst ever. Other

than that, she seems to be a person who slides along with the leadership in her party.

Compare and contrast her decision to take a $40,315 pay raise with the decision of Steve Panagiotakos, who refused a raise of $16,240.

I am supporting John Mac-Donald, running as a Republican, because we have real problems that require real leadership. Medicaid takes up more and more of our state budget. The Democrat leadership asked Governor Baker for a plan to address the problem, which he provided, and they rejected it without stepping up with their own plan.

The time has come for a little less lawyer-like gentility, and a little more street smarts.

MacDonald is outspoken but respectful. I think he would make an outstanding state senator.
