I am running for the Hamilton Local School Board this November. As a mother of three children attending Hamilton Local School District, I am very familiar with the issues facing parents and students. I am also a teacher so I know first hand the challenges facing public education today. I believe that public schools should be the heart of the community and I will strive to ensure it. I am passionate about building strong relationships between the teachers, administrators, and the citizens of the district. I will work hard to keep our schools exceptional and our taxes low while providing opportunities for students to earn college credit and 21st century career skills in order to prepare them for life after high school.
I hope to earn your vote on November 7th, 2017!

“This is now my 6th year at Franklin Heights High School. As many of us know, teaching is one of the most rewarding professions one can have. The reasons are obvious. We get to work with children, help them grow, watch them discover, feel their pain as they fail or face hardships and be a part of their joy in success and triumphs. It is a job that many have, but few can perfect. It is a job that demands so much of a person and at times can feel as though it takes everything you have (patience, time, sanity…). No one can deny the way a teacher can continue to push through the constant demands upon us are working with and loving our students. However, it is sometimes forgotten how important our co-workers and more importantly friends can be to us. For this reason I would like to endorse Amber Clark for Hamilton Local School Board. If you look at our building, our staff and most importantly our kids it is easy to see why she should be endorsed. She is a head SWEA representative within our school and one of the biggest advocates for our district and teachers across the United States. She defends our students rights to the very end. Every single time she walks into the building she looks out for the betterment of our profession and more importantly for providing the services our kids need and deserve. She does all of this while being respectful, kind and compassionate and not one person, whether administration or SWEA, can deny she makes our school better and advocates for our students. She is constantly challenging us (teachers) to grow in professionalism and knowledge so we can better represent ourselves and she is always putting the kids and teaching profession first, even as we beg her to go home and be with her family. She is a leader not only within our special education department, but a leader for our school and a leader on the district level for SWEA. She has helped new teachers, veteran teachers, administration, support staff, DSC, parents and students with countless things ranging from test preparation, distributing and constructing caseloads, grading, tutoring, IEP questions and so much more. I have seen her walk down the hall with countless students as they open up to her about things they wouldn’t dare to their parents or best friends. I have seen her become angry about the challenges and injustices facing our students and then take the next step and try to combat them and make them right. I can honestly say she would literally do anything for our students, staff, school and community, not because it is some idealistic view of her, but rather because I have seen her do it time and time again for the past six years. She is a professional leader, educational partner and has countless accomplishments. It would be a disservice to Hamilton Local Schools for her not to be elected.”
