I am asking for your help to raise $2,000 for the incredible Southern Coalition for Social Justice by year's end. (http://www.southerncoalition.o...).
The folks at The Southern Coalition for Social Justice, based out of Durham, North Carolina, continue to fight -- and win, and win, and then win again -- the most important court battles for voting rights and fair districting. The work they do for criminal justice reform is groundbreaking. While they're not entirely unsung heroes, they certainly aren't sung enough, and they do their heavy-hitting with a lean budget from a modest office suite, quietly delivering great victories for the South and the entire nation during a time of dramatic derogations of democratic norms and terrible setbacks for civil rights.
In other words, The Southern Coalition for Social Justice is one of the great civil rights champions of our time, and it needs, and is eminently deserving of great material support. Its folks also deserve to take a breath from the furious pace of their work to be properly feted by, and to celebrate with, their community.
It's a gift to know who our champions are; we have a responsibility to properly hold them up as such. Any and all donations much appreciated. Feel free to reach out with any questions (email@example.com; 919.619.5467).
Thank you for endorsing this campaign!
