Over the past 19 years, I have been very fortunate to have a career in Education, which I have found to be both enjoyable and fulfilling. Throughout my tenure, I have learned a great deal, as well as developed a keen insight as to how schools can ensure their student body is prepared to matriculate to higher education, graduate from these institutions, and follow a career path of their choosing.

Given the aforementioned, it is with great passion that I formally announce that I am pursuing a seat on the Compton Unified School District’s Board of Trustees. It is my belief that students enrolled in school in the Compton District can excel beyond measure if given the opportunity, supported with dynamic curriculum, high quality instruction, increasing rigor and expectations. As I launch my campaign I am hopeful that you will join me as I seek to raise $25,000 for this endeavor. I have made a substantial initial financial investment, and would be thrilled to have your partnership.

As a native Comptonian, as well as a graduate of Compton High School, I have closely observed the many changes and challenges our schools and community have experienced over the years. It is therefore imperative that we have individuals who are both experienced and passionate regarding the change we would like to see occur, be seated in those decision-making positions. Strong advocates who can influence policy and produce change that will directly impact our children. I AM THAT CANDIDATE!

I come to you as a parent having reared three college-educated children, along with many years of experience as a school social worker, child welfare and attendance counselor, and an administrator in schools. Given my background, variety of experiences, solid skill set and passion for the children of Compton, I am an excellent candidate to hold a seat on the Compton Unified School District’s Board of Trustees.
