I grew up in Northglenn, Colorado in a family of 6. I am a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. For several years, I owned a company specializing in the design, build,
and construction of heavy highway grade separation retaining walls.
In 2010, I began my wealth management and financial planning practice with Northwestern Mutual. My passion for serving the
community found expression through helping individuals and their families take more control over their financial future. I love problem solving and developing enduring relationships with my clients
and our community.
Additionally, I serve as a board member for Brent’s Place, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing clean and safe housing for immune compromised children and their families while they undergo bone marrow transplants and cancer treatments. I also volunteer as a board member for the local HOA, Den leader for the local Cub Scout Pack 606, and as a coach for my son and daughter’s flag football team.
I live in Thornton with my wife of 14 years, Monica. Our children Emma and Wyatt currently attend West Ridge Elementary. We enjoy time with family and friends, camping, fly fishing, and volunteering at our church and at Brent’s Place.
I believe my past experiences will be of value to the district. Like others, I want to help our district develop into one of the most respected and sought after school districts in the State of Colorado; sought after by both families, teachers and the business community. I believe we have the best opportunity for growth. My priorities consist of the following:
- Support additional funding
- Support and improve, as needed, the processes to attract and retain good teachers
- Improve the board’s mission and value statement to align better with the foresight of growth and challenges that come with a diverse community
- Leverage the existing supporting community to allow for better parent/family representation in their children’s lives
