"The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them" - Ida B Wells
My Name is Medrick Yhap Progressive Democratic Candidate for US Congress TX3.
A former Dallas Police officer, I am currently a software engineer. I am a naturalized citizen, soccer coach and father. I believe that the 2017/2018 elections are most critical for America and we must take the hill back in this election.
It is time for real change. Democrats and Progressives are re-asserting ourselves, we are calling for change. We are demanding that our voices are being heard. We are calling for a responsible and representative government for all. It is about you #NotMeUS.
We are calling for:
Access to Universal Healthcare for All
Responsible Immigration Policies
Address Climate Change
Address Food Insecurity
End to Private Jails Improved Infrastructure Livable Wages
These are a few of the issues, that I am passionate about and these issues have a major impact in our lives and our future.
Roosevelt once said, "We must show, not merely in great crises, but in the everyday affairs of life, the qualities of practical intelligence, of courage, of hardihood, and endurance, and above all the power of devotion to a lofty ideal, which made great the men who founded this Republic in the days of Washington, which made great the men who preserved this Republic in the days of Abraham Lincoln."
Their voices have led their generation to a better lot in life. It will take strong progressive voices and bold leadership to move us to the future. Join and support my campaign for Congress, Say YES TO YHAP

The election is over and though the results was not what I had expected. This experience was immensely rewarding. I would like to thank each of you from my heart for your confidence in my campaign, your support and contributions.
I will not be going away as I have found several causes along the trail that I have become passionate about. As a result I will be repurposing my efforts to advocate for the prevention of bullying in schools and redouble my efforts for gun safety.
Once again a huge thank you, I m still in the fight and will never give up!
