I entered this race because the 6th District has never had Democratic representation. The incumbent in this race doesn't address the issues working and middle income citizens need to have addressed here and now.

I moved two-thirds of the way across America and found my true home in Colorado to make this possible. I've been working class for most of my life. My mother and I worked together at my first job as a server at a small pizza restaurant in Davie, Florida. My next job was a telemarketer. Then I worked some real dirty jobs. I was a construction worker for half a decade. I've been a trucker, and I can drive anything from two to eighteen wheels.

When Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, I volunteered for the recovery effort. During Hurricane Wilma, the torrential winds broke power lines and trees, causing panic, blackouts, and massive damage. When the power went out and my neighbors needed essential supplies, I rode on a bicycle through the storm to reach the isolated victims with food, water, and medical supplies. Afterwards, my family and I donated clothing, cleared debris, and volunteered to package food to distribute at the local homeless shelter.

After developing the skills to fix computers, I had a great career as a Systems Manager. I saw entire industries, including the tech industry of which I was part of, have the majority of jobs sent overseas. I was one of millions of Americans that had outsourcing impact a high paying career that had been earned by working hard to make connections, get educated, and help others in the community. Instead of selling those skills, I have translated them into a program that provides free assistance for finding and fixing computers for low income individuals in Aurora and Centennial.

Working my way to the middle income arena, I was faced with a moral dilemma: sell out everything that was good about myself, about other people, just to make it up the ladder to being wealthy. I couldn't do it. I refused to do it. I have no stocks. No investments. I will refuse or return any donations from Oil companies, Wall Street, and SuperPACs.

If the Democrats want to win in 2018 and beyond, we need to unite around a strong American message that says we value above all else and honor our people's Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Life means giving a damn about each other again, loving ourselves and our neighbors, realizing our own value, promoting Medicare For All as a bridge to Universal Healthcare For All, as the Affordable Care Act was originally intended, and demanding Equal Rights for women because Women's Rights are Human Rights.

Liberty, as in our right to do what we please alone to ourselves so long as we do no harm. Decriminalization of marijuana is not enough. Cannabis has never killed anyone, therefore it must be de-scheduled and made fully legal. This will immediately help reduce the majority of nonviolent crimes. Hemp and cannabis are the future cash crop of America and will benefit each state quite substantially.

The Pursuit of Happiness is the right of every American to safely live, and work, and travel, regardless of gender, or color, or what we wear, or who we love, to be on the streets, our streets, and wherever need be to pursue happiness. Enough being settled with 5% or more unemployment that doesn't even include people not looking for work, hopeless, because there's no work!

Justice reform must return to "Innocent until proven guilty." Period. No more innocent people getting shot by police. No more unarmed black and brown women and men being slaughtered because of mere nonviolent non-compliance! More peace, and equality, a basic level of resources for all so even our lowest in society can regain their humanity and rise together to face the next day, what ever it may bring.
