I’m running for Montana’s sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, so the United States can invest in your tomorrow. We can expand wind energy to make free money out of thin air and use the money that grows on trees to make forests more resilient against wildfire. This run pits me against Greg Gianforte, who assaulted reporter Ben Jacobs in May 2017.

I was born and raised in Montana to a railroading family. After earning my mathematics degree from the University of Montana and my law degree from Stanford, I clerked at the Montana Supreme Court. I spent nine years defending public lands at the United States Department of Justice. The United States trusted me to defend $16 billion of projects: forest health projects, wind farms, public rail projects, and highways.

I am running because Congress is trying to take away our health care, to undermine protections of public lands, and to make life harder on working families.

Wind energy brings jobs, clean energy, and rent for farmers. Separately, we have managed our forests to create conditions for extreme wildfire. We can manage the forests to return fire to its natural part of the cycle—all while growing jobs and protecting wildlife.

My country called me, and I answered. And on behalf of our country, I'm calling on you. I know you will rise to the call of duty. Would you please help me put America on track?
