Eric Mulder is the Libertarian candidate for Sheriff of Arapahoe County. A six year veteran of the United States Army, Eric understands the dangers that law enforcement officers can face, and also understands the importance of protecting citizens from government abuse. That is why Eric's platform is based around:

Demilitarization. Law enforcement agencies have become increasingly militarized in the United States. This has had a detrimental effect on civil liberties.  To protect the freedoms of individuals from militarized encroachment, the Sheriff needs to uphold and affirm the principles of liberty as affirmed by the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.

Decriminalization. The Justice System has relied extensively on the use of prisons and jails as an address for societal concerns- with disastrous results that have obliterated thousands of lives for often victimless crimes. The Sheriff's department needs to stand up to this erroneous approach to justice, and develop a policy that promotes community based solutions over incarceration.

“About a decade ago I was at the County Administration Building in Littleton, and noticed what seemed to be armored fighting vehicles tucked away in a garage. About four years ago I talked to David Walcher, now the incumbent Sherrif, about it, and he said Arapahoe County does not own any such vehicles. After a bit more prodding he told me that they were "regional assets." I expect that to means he will make them available to Denver P.D. the next time they want to "get up early to beat the crowds" as they boasted during the Democratic Convention here in 2008. That is why I have Mulder's "Demilitarize the Police" sticker on my car.”

Thank you!

The numbers might have shown we lost the race, but our campaign accomplished more than a victory- it showed Arapahoe County that it is the rights of the individual that matter. What mattered in this race was not experience, but addressing the issues your constituents are facing.

The War on Drugs, Mass Incarceration, and the School to Prison Pipeline threaten the freedoms of us all, and we must confront them through elected office and engaging our communities.

I am looking forward to continuing to stand for the rights of all individuals, whether its as an elected official or a member of the community.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this an unforgettable campaign! We are not done yet!

Libertarian Party of Arapahoe County Convention

The Libertarian Party of Arapahoe County (LPAC) Convention will be on April 7 at 12 (noon) at Salvage Restaurant in Aurora. This is where we will be nominating candidates to run for county-wide offices in the 2018 elections.

This is also where we will be hosting our annual meeting, in which we propose amendments to the LPAC bylaws and hold elections for our board officers.

Let's have a good turnout so we can give Arapahoe County the Libertarian Sheriff we need!
