Who am I?
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, I was raised in a rural town called West Salem, located between Cleveland and Columbus. From an early age I was active in team sports, focusing on basketball by the time I got to high school. My love of sports continues to this day, both playing in and managing teams in an adult baseball league.
After graduation I got a job hanging vinyl siding and I’ve been in construction ever since. Framing houses, roofing, finish carpentry, commercial work, I’ve just about done it all over the last 30 years. I find it satisfying to step back after a long hard day and see what has been accomplished. Having worked both as construction labor and as foreman, I know first-hand that it takes a team to build something to endure.
12 years ago, I packed up my guitar and decided to take a shot at making it in Nashville. It didn’t take me long to realize that I simply wasn’t talented enough for the big time. However, I fell in love with Tennessee and decided to make this my home.
Why am I running to represent the 49th District?
I’ve always had an interest in current events and politics. The events taking place nationally have inspired me to take a more active role. I know I can be an effective voice for the people of La Vergne, Smyrna and the rest of the 49th District.
What do I believe?
I believe the only way to get things done is through hard work.
I believe in equal rights for all people.
I believe in equal pay for equal work regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation.
I believe you build an economy from the bottom up and that trickle-down economics does not work.
I believe scientists when they tell us climate change is real and man-made.
I believe in taking care of our veterans who have sacrificed in service of our country.
I believe in compassion for those less fortunate among us.
I believe in the inherent goodness of people.
