My name is Nick Bartlow. I have a passion for the education of students. I want to see each of our students prepared for whatever possible future they can imagine. My mother was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years, my mother in law taught for 40 years and my father served on the school board in my hometown for 12 years. My wife Carrie and I have 3 beautiful children, Wake who is in 2nd grade at EPiC, Ramsey who is at the ECC and Deacon who is 3.5. My family inspires me to serve on the School Board.
I learned at an early age the importance of giving back to your community in a way that best leverages your abilities and passions. My bachelors degree from William Jewell College and Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University enabled me to spend the last 16 years of my career in helping companies large and small develop and implement long range growth plans while addressing short term business needs. I have done this through collaboration with multiple stakeholders, thorough data analysis and establishing goals and objectives that are effective, efficient and measurable.
I am well prepared to serve on the board. Over the past two years I have attended nearly all of the monthly board meetings and study sessions. I have met with our administration, academic services, principals at several schools as well as teachers and parents to understand the successes and opportunities we have within our district. I also serve on the district’s Vision 20/20 strategic planning committee as well as the Audit & Finance committee. I have voluntarily done all of this in order to offer a seamless transition and be an immediate contributor to the board when I begin my term.
I take this opportunity to serve on our board of education humbly and seriously. I believe there is no greater way that we can impact the future of our society than through education. I want every single student to be able to achieve whatever possible future they can imagine.
