I'm a mom, wife, sister, friend, kayaker, and book-lover who has dedicated my 30-year career in the policy and nonprofit worlds to improving the lives of children and families through education.  Now it is time to use that experience to be a voice for children and families in Maryland.

We know we can have a state that lives up to the promise of equal opportunity and a better quality of life for all. That includes addressing the gun violence epidemic and a creating a climate where we – and our children – can live free from the fears of gun violence that are all too real today. We can have a healthy environment and a fully restored Chesapeake Bay. We can have an economy that works for everyone, starting with world-class public schools that provide the knowledge, skills, and nurture the next generation needs for the brightest possible future. And we can do better in providing affordable, accessible health care to our children, families, and senior citizens.

Thanks to your generous donations, I was able to reach voters across the district and win the primary!  I am thrilled to be one of two Democrats who will advance to the ballot in November – and excited that the other Democrat who won is our Speaker of the House, Mike Busch.

We are running on a slate together for November, competing against two conservative Republicans to represent District 30A. The Republican machine has deep pockets and I need to raise $90,000 by October 1st to stay competitive.

I could not, and would not, be doing this without friends like you who are stepping up to help in such an amazing way.  Thank you.

“I endorse Alice Cain because I was privileged yo work with her on many occasions in different capacities. I worked on the Hill for the House education and the workforce committee. I met Alice during House/Senate conferences. While we were from different parties she always was willing to listen and often compromise if she felt it would benefit educational programs for children and adults, especially focusing on literacy. When she left the Hill I worked with her at the National Institute for Literacy as the Committee chairman was a strong advocate for Literacy. She is an honest and fair person and Maryland would benefit well from having her in office.”

A donation of any amount will allow me to reach more voters, defeat both Republican candidates and get to the State House.

With two democratic seats, we can advance legislation that includes addressing the gun violence epidemic and a creating a climate where we – and our children – can live free from the fears of gun violence that are all too real today.
