Introduction

Donna Cox is a candidate for Sacramento County Sheriff. With two decades of service with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and serving the community of Sacramento, Donna retired as a Sergeant a position she held for over 11 years.

Born and raised in Sacramento County, Donna wanted to be a Deputy Sheriff since she was a young girl.  Her father, Ben Cox, served as a deputy for over 35 years on the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department so Donna grew up around numerous deputy sheriffs.

Education and Experience

Donna Cox earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management from the Union Institute and University.

In her career she held various positions throughout the Sheriff’s Department, but her most rewarding position was being a field supervisor for K-9 in patrol.

Donna aims to reform Sacramento's Sheriff Department with her Five-point Plan to better serve the community and promote accountability, sensibility, and fiscal responsibility.
