Kate Ayers is the Cancer Education Program Manager at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She has a BA in Chemistry and Theology from Union University in Jackson, TN and a MS in biomedical research from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. After completing her graduate studies, Ayers shifted careers and moved into K-12 science education. She taught 7th grade life sciences for five years before returning to St. Jude in 2013 to manage the Cancer Educational Outreach Program, where she leads programs that focus on reducing health and education disparities in the Memphis-area.
Kate Ayers is also a mother of two children who attend Shelby County Schools. She is an active parent and member of the community. Ayers is a strong advocate for policies and programs that foster education equity by focusing on the whole child.
