I am 37 years old and long time resident of Buncombe County. I am the Production Manager for NC Stage Company, Operations Manager for the Immediate Theatre Project, and owner of a small production company catering to not for profit and arts education organizations across Buncombe County. I am an actor and a stage manager, a union member, a craftsman, carpenter, welder, electrician and auto mechanic. I am a blue collar artist.
My son's 3rd birthday was November 10th, 2016. On that day, when I looked into his eyes, I knew I could no longer sit back and watch as my country and state were overridden by fear and hate. I resolved to take a stand and fight for the ideals of unity, community and equality that make our country so great.
I support education in all forms. We must find a balanced mix of public, charter, private and home schooling options that give our children the best options for growth and development and cater to their unique needs. Our schools must be given the resources to thrive.
I feel that education starts before kindergarten and will seek to expand funding for early childhood development.
Most importantly, I believe in a government of the people, for the people and by the people. All levels of government exist to serve the people, and I will endeavor to include the citizens of Buncombe County in all levels of the decision making process. I am here to be your voice.
