I am a father, husband, educator, student, musician, historian, and writer, born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and now raising my two sons here with my wife Lauren. I am running for State Representative because it is time for a new conversation about what Arkansas needs to build a stronger economy, a stronger population, and a stronger future.
In today’s toxic political environment, it is easy to lose sight of what really matters: the opportunity to chart your own path, to build whatever life you want for yourself if you’re willing to work for it. I’m running because the legislators in Little Rock haven’t done enough for towns like Fort Smith. I’m running because our friends and neighbors in Fort Smith deserve a choice in who represents them, not a coronation. I’m not running because it will be easy to build a better Fort Smith—I’m running because it will be hard and because we deserve a fresh start.
It is time for a new conversation:
- It is time for a new conversation about what access to healthcare means for economic growth in Arkansas. I will fight for healthcare access in Little Rock because we all do better when our entire workforce has access to high quality, affordable health care. A more productive Arkansas is better for everyone, and that is the future I am dedicated to building.
- It is time for a new conversation about what our investment in public education means for entrepreneurs and business executives who consider bringing their company to this state. I will fight for more resources for our public education because we all benefit from a system that produces innovative thinkers and lifelong learners who continue to acquire the skills required in a rapidly changing economy.
- It is time for a new conversation about what a healthy and growing economy looks like. We all want an Arkansas with more opportunities to find jobs and more opportunities to create our own jobs. In a time when people often figure out where they want to live first, and then find a job, it is imperative that we build an Arkansas that is welcoming and attractive to all. This means better infrastructure to bring people here, and better amenities to make them want to stay.
