I am running for Amador County Superior Court Judge Office #2, which is currently held by a gubernatorial appointee.  I have lived and worked as a trial attorney in Amador County since 2001, and have been an attorney for more than 20 years, representing countless clients, many of them poor, and trying difficult cases to jury verdict.

We have the right to vote, so why should we let Sacramento politicians choose our local judges.  The governor's office uses appointments to deprive us of our judicial elections.  The process undermines local choice by giving the governor's appointees advantages over local citizens, like shielding them from scheduled elections for two years, so that they can be described as an incumbent.  Additionally, and unlike other appointees to elected office, if no other citizen signs up to run against them, then their office is removed from the ballot, and they are elected by operation of law.  This process keeps local voters uninformed, and after many years of this process, most citizens don't even know we have the right to elect our own judges.

I have a penchant for getting involved in cases to prevent injustice.  Most people I’ve represented over the years haven’t had many resources, and I often represented people for free, but I’ve achieved an extremely high rate of citizens acquitted of charges against them.

In America, our Constitutional rights that we take for granted have been eroded over time, becoming practically non-existent by judicially created “exceptions.”  Whenever one citizen is wrongfully deprived of these rights, every citizen suffers.  Working in the trenches of court system, "I’ve found that Amador County juries are intelligent, thoughtful and try hard to follow the law and arrive at a correct verdict. Trial by a jury of our peers is one of the greatest institutions ever devised to protect our citizens.

Most of my life I've been trying to defend the U.S. Constitution.  I joined the Army at 17, and served as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Holding both Infantryman and Cavalry Scout positions, I attended Jungle School, Recondo School, two Non -Commissioned Officer academies, and had many other training opportunities. I also served in the 5th Infantry Division, and the California Army National Guard’s 40th Infantry Division, in its Airborne Long Range Surveillance Unit.

I earned an A.A. Degree in Journalism at L.A. Pierce College; a B.A. degree in International Relations at the University of Southern California; and a law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law.  I am also a member of American Legion Post No. 108, the Jackson Elks Lodge and regularly perform in plays with the Volcano Theater Company.

Announcing my new Crowdpac fundraising tool.

Boy I hate asking people for money but it seems I'm getting outspent in a big way.  I'm trying this service to make it convenient for any of my supporters who can afford it to donate.  Hope it works.
