I love Memphis! Born and raised here in Memphis and I have lived the majority of my life in the Whitehaven community. My interest in public education began when I was trying to find the perfect elementary school for my daughter as she was preparing to enter Kindergarten. She was a bright and creative child. I knew wherever she went to elementary school she needed to nurture those things that made her who she was and will grow to be. A close friend recommended that I visit Rozelle Creating and Performing Arts School. I felt like I had died and gone to Rozelle. Each school day my daughter was able to receive a creative and performing arts class that challenged and nurtured her creativity but also provided the academic rigor she needed. I felt this was an magnificent opportunity provided to my child but also an opportunity that should be provided to every child. Public education provides a wide variety of opportunities for our children regardless of their socioeconomic background but more importantly catering to their individual needs.
I believe in supporting quality education to meet the unique needs of all children within our community. I advocate for quality education for all children in Shelby County. I see my role as a school board member to govern and also maintain the fiscal responsibility of the resources of the taxpayers of our community to provide that quality education.
Please support me in my role to continue to advocate for quality education for all children within our communities.
