Hello Donors, my name is Rosie Zepeda and I am running for San Jose City Council, District 9. I am a former teacher and currently a small business owner in the areas of communication development and marketing research. For the last 12 years I have dedicated myself to the empowerment of girls and women, specifically in STEM education, pay equity and increasing economic impact for minority small business owners. I am not a career politician or belong to the political clique. I am just a resident trying to make a difference in my community. What qualifies me as the best candidate is my solid finance experience and my training as a researcher.
Our city used to make the top 10 list of safest cities in the entire United States every year. Unfortunately, this has not been the case for many years now. As a our city goes from suburban sprawl to urban center we are facing many challenges.
Among these challenges:
- Not enough police officers for our 1.1 million population
- No comprehensive plan for affordable housing (average home is $1.2 million)
- A rising homeless population
This is my first campaign and I have to share with you, it is the hardest thing I have ever done. Part of this is that I am going against the machine. This machine is made up of special interest groups and PACS who will spend a million dollars to get their favorite candidate elected.
Your support will help me get out a mailer to high propensity voters in my District and win votes. I am connecting very well with voters, but I will not be able to reach every household. This is where you come in. Your donation to reach my goal of $15,000 will allow me to deliver my message of #CommonSensePolicy to very targeted voters.
I need your support in order to make top two in the primary on June 5th. This is a grassroots campaign, free of developer, corporate or special interest money.
Help me safeguard the middle class and working families in the City of San Jose, the 10th largest city in the USA. Help me get into office for a safer and more affordable San Jose!
Thank you for endorsing this campaign!
