Tashina Morris, a native of Montgomery, AL., was born and raised in west Montgomery. She is a graduate of Carver High School and Alabama State University. She has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Leadership and Management.
Tashina is an advocate for the people. She believes all people, regardless of life circumstances, deserve a fair chance to have a successful life. And because of this, she will work hard to be the voice of the people. Tashina will work with all elected leaders, community organizations, and community leaders to effect changes in policies that are archaic and need revision. Tashina wants to work on criminal justice reform, particularly in simplifying the process to restore voting rights. She also believes that the harsh penalties for opioids and cannabis need to be reviewed and more focus and funds need to be place on community-based programs for addiction.
Education is a major focus of Tashina's platform. Tashina has personally experience the power of education in her own life. Therefore, she pledges to work with other legislators to support funding for trade and workforce development. She proposes revisiting the current base property tax millage in the Alabama Constitution in order to provide a more equitable funding source for schools.
As your Representative, Tashina will be an advocate and a powerful voice FOR THE PEOPLE of District 77. Please support her as she is in a runoff on July 17, 2018. Also, vote for this champion of the people.
