You will make the biggest impact in the 2018 Midterm Election by getting Native American voters to the polls in key races.  That means supporting the most effective Native American voter advocacy organization in the USA.

Every day, people are trying to make it harder for Native Americans to cast their vote and let their voices be heard.  And every day, we're working to make sure those efforts to silence our people fail.

We are a native-led group, organizing at the county level in critical and battleground states.

We've won many voter's rights battle at the local, state AND federal level.  We ARE winning - but we can only do it with your support.

Right now, we have boots on the ground in four key Midterm states.  We're working in Apache, Coconino and Navajo, Counties in Arizona, Nevada, North Dakota and San Juan County, Utah.  These are places voter suppression horror stories happen.  Voters are lied to, intimidated, threatened, and systematically stripped of their right to vote.

Early voting is going on RIGHT NOW - and we can only continue the fight with your contribution.

Please, give now - and give generously.  Our future...your future depends on it.

Making News; Making History

This will be short because there's so much to do - but you're the amazing people who've helped us do this, so you deserve an update.  We just had three people vote with the tribal voter ID letter - so our solution to beat the North Dakota law has been a success.  This is HUGE news, because that means all of our work has allowed Native American voters in North Dakota to vote.  We'll post more later.

A few other facts...

The most Absentee votes in Sioux County history was 77.  As of yesterday night, we have over 250 votes in.  On top of that, we've gotten over 500 people new tribal IDs on Standing Rock.  This is a big deal...that means each of those people will have IDs so they can vote in 2020 as well.

More later...with gratitude...

Doubled. Yes, Doubled.

We’ve been on the ground here for four days and we have DOUBLED the Absentee ballots from the last election...2016...a presidential cycle. More details are coming, but this was a historic day. Thank you again for supporting our efforts. Our team is working so hard and it’s showing.  Here’s another awesome fact, at Standing Rock alone, the Tribal office has issued over 440 new ID cards with residential street addresses. Again, that’s historic. If you don’t follow us on Twitter yet, please consider doing so. Today we posted an article from the New York Times about our work here in ND. Then, we tweeted a video of our morning prayer song. We have two twitter accounts: @4directionsvote and @directions_vote. Just another thank you for your help. You really made a great decision to support us. The money you’ve given us goes directly into putting local boots on the ground to turn out the vote. Not only does Four Directions get ballot access for Native voters, we also take money we raise and put it on the ground. We are the ONLY organization that does this...so thanks again.

Photo: Lunch served for our workers in Fort Yates at the Four Directions “Yellow House” which is our office through Election Day. Today, Jen & Liz made almost 20 pounds of taco meat and we recharged on a tasty lunch. We serve lunch to our troops every day and they are very grateful for it. We all are because the hours are stressful. Thanks for reading!

Your amazing help, making an amazing difference.

So much has happened the last week - here's an update. First, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe passed a resolution to work with Four Directions to work for ballot access and voter turnout.  We've solved the address problem, but only TEMPORARILY.  The law is obviously unfair, as Judge Hovland ruled twice, and though the Supreme Court ruled against us.  We'll make sure every Native America that is a legal resident of North Dakota will have the opportunity to vote.

Things turned ugly when we found out there was NO EARLY VOTING in Sioux County.  There is Absentee voting.  Lots of struggle with people going into the Auditor's office and being given the request form.  We have the pressure on and we're not giving up.

Then people have been turned away who have addresses in the voter file, but they are outdated.  We're working through those issues.

Here on the ground we have a huge group of people working to get voters to the Auditor's office to Absentee vote.

Because of you, we're able to do more than we ever have.  Thank you for your support and words of encouragement.

If you've given - we cannot ask you to give again.  We know that money is hard to come by, and we thank you for what you've given.

If you are in a position to support us again, even a small amount will help.  Thank you so much.
