"Simply adding more regulations based on suspect science will not change natural climate patterns." -Tom McClintock, U.S. House of Representative, California 4th District

The California 4th district includes parts of Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Sierra National Forest, Kings Canyon National Park, Inyo National Forest, Stanislaus National Forest, El Dorado National Forest and Giant Sequoia National Monument, among others.

The Protect Our Winters Action Fund has secured five billboards in California's 4th District that will run from October 15, 2018 through election day, November 6th, 2018. The goal of this campaign is to spread awareness that the people of the California 4th and these iconic wilderness areas are currently represented by a climate change denier who is opting to watch our public lands burn rather than face the reality that climate change is real and human-caused.

Donate to help the Protect Our Winters Action Fund fight Tom McClintock and run these five billboards in the California 4th District. Our conservative goal for this campaign is $10,000 but we know with your help this can be much bigger. How big?  That is up to you!  All funds raised will be used to help the POW Action Fund in this and other federal elections, fighting to get climate deniers out of Washington, with a focus on regions where the outdoor industry represents a significant portion of the local economy.

McClintock's views on Climate Change:
* "I firmly believe that the United States should not hamstring its economy in an attempt to combat global warming.  The Earth’s climate is constantly changing and has been since the planet formed over four billion years ago.  We know that during the Medieval warm period, from the 10th through the 13th centuries, wine grapes were grown in northern Britain, and Iceland and Greenland supported a thriving agricultural economy.  We also know that during the Little Ice Age that followed, the Thames River froze solid every winter and advancing ice sheets destroyed many towns in Europe. Simply adding more regulations based on suspect science will not change natural climate patterns.  Such regulations will, however, devastate our economy and make America less competitive with nations like China and India, who refuse to strangle their economies.  For these reasons, I will not support them." -email to POW founder Jeremy Jones on 7/23/18
* "My climate change discovery came in the fall of 1964, when Miss Conroy took our third grade class to the Museum of Natural History. It was there that we saw the panorama of dinosaurs tromping around the steamy swamps that are now part of Wyoming.  That panorama was right next to the exhibit of the Wooly Mammoths foraging on glaciers that were also once the same part of Wyoming.  And I thought to myself, “Gee, those dinosaurs are nifty.”  And then I thought to myself, “Good God, the climate must have changed from time to time.” -excerpt from "Inconvenient Questions" a speech made by Tom McClintock on 3/9/09 and hosted on mclintock.house.gov

The POW Action Fund endorses Jessica Morse for the CA 4th:

California’s 4th Congressional District is home to iconic outdoor destinations including Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, an important snowpack, a dozen ski areas, and a constituency of passionate outdoor people. Despite that, Tom McClintock, a climate change denier with a four-percent rating from the League of Conservation Voters, has represented the district for nearly a decade. As a member of the outdoor community who has hiked the Pacific Crest Trail through her district, Jessica Morse understands the connection between a healthy mountain economy and a stable climate. She believes in investments in clean energy, legislation to reduce carbon emissions, and protecting public lands.
