We have a government that does not represent our people. We have a state that does not provide enough to build a better future. We have laws that target communities of color and low-income communities. We are left without progressive enough candidates that are okay with playing the political game.

My name is Jonathan Flores and those are a few of the many things I want to change with your help. I'm running for the Florida House of Representative District 102 seat. Although this district represents areas of Miami Gardens, Miramar, and Pembroke Pines- I am here to represent the people of a soon to be #FreeFlorida.

Ever since I was little I had an urge to give back. It followed me all throughout life. From joining the military to being a high school teacher, from doing three AmeriCorps programs to being a grassroots organizer. This is my passion. And as every day passes, I learn more about the issues our communities face and the disservice that our government provides. I will dedicate my life to change that for you, your family, your community, our state- and we'll do it together. The people are power.

I will bring purpose back to politics and government. I will be unconventional in my ways because we are stuck in our traditions. I will focus on grassroots movement because it should not be from the top-down or influenced by corporations. I will use my skills, the stories of community members I've met, my experience from different government and community organizations, and our belief and need for basic freedoms to start turning Florida into a state that is free from poverty, violence, environmental destruction, dysfunctional democracy, and other freedoms that will make us the standard for the rest of the state and the rest of the country.

#FreeFlorida is moving to HD101!

Hello #FreeFlorida fam!

I want to thank you all again for your support to this campaign. Initially, I was running for Florida House District 102. I am excited to announce that I will now be running for Florida House District 101. No worries though, nothing really changes; it's just getting better. 

Although this district represents a specific area, this campaign is much larger than that. This is the beginning of the #2020Vision guided by #FreedomPapers that will be possible by you and Freedom Candidates like myself. 

Unfortunately, due to state law, I am unable to use these pledges that you all provided since I will be switching districts. The good news is that you will be able to donate directly to the new campaign account. I will be sending the new link to all of you.

Part of my campaign is to redefine what it means to be an elected official. One of those things to constantly listen to an act on what the community cares about. Unfortunately, most of our current politicians only care about what corporations want. So, I want to know what issues YOU care about.
