I'm excited to announce my candidacy for Oak Park Village Trustee. As someone who has lived a life of survival, and who moved to Oak Park in 2008, as a low-income single mother, I know how it feels when your local government doesn’t seem to care about you and doesn't represent your struggle. We need elected officials in Oak Park who have walked in our shoes, who inherently understand social and racial justice issues, and who can use their background to help fight for a fair and equitable Oak Park. I'm running to fight for racial equity and give every Oak Parker an equal chance at success. Join me and let's change Oak Park for the better.

“Arti is one of my personal heroes. She has more courage than anyone I know, especially that rare category of moral courage - the willing to risk oneself to do what is right. She cares about others - no one would be a better public servant in elected office than Arti.”
