Anyone familiar with Pennsylvania politics knows that there’s Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and the rest falls in the “T”. In 2016 that “T” seemed to stand for Trump because it was those voters that swung Pennsylvania for him. Laura Quick and Tri-County Progressives, the organizers of Progressivepalooza, want to celebrate all that is progressive and send the message that progressive issues are not radical. Wanting 100% healthcare coverage for 100% of Americans is not “socialized medicine”. Wanting clean air and water is not a partisan issue. Asking our Government to create policies that address the greatest income inequality since the beginning of the 20th Century is not “socialism”. Unions are the backbone of the middle class – not The Enemy. Education should be upheld as the great equalizer and shouldn’t put our youth into hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loan debt.
What is Progressivepalooza? It is the blending of Progressive values/ideas and the organizations that promote them with a festival atmosphere of games, activities and live music. This year we have invited (and continue to invite) all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. After forging relationships with all the campaigns and discovering genuine interest of all the presidential candidates to come to the Pennsylvania “T” we now have resolved to bring all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates here at some point in the near future that we are calling “Progressivepalooza Plus”
We need your help! All we need is 300 people to donate $10 each and we can not only pay for the Progressivepalooza venue at Rodale Institute but also get YOUR favorite Democratic presidential candidate to come to the Pennsylvania “T”! Tri-County Progressives is a state non-profit political action committee (PA 527) and any donation to this Crowdpac account will be used solely for Progressivepalooza and Progressivepalooza Plus. Our first goal is $750 by May 1st.

Thank you all for stepping up to help make the 2nd annual Progressivepalooza happen. We gave it the ole college try but $1500 in 3 weeks was just a little too difficult to pull off. It was my hope that campaigns that deal in millions of dollars would appreciate an upscale venue and not mind throwing $1000 our way so the event can be free to the public.
Your contributions will not go to waste, however. We can now start a website and have funds available to get the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates to the PA "T". The other organizers and I will be meeting and talking to the participating organizations about whether we can try rescheduling for later this year at a less expensive venue or just tabling everything for next near.

Back in my high school track days, the coach would tell us to "kick it in" to the finish line - and our contributors did just that! Like little elves in the night I woke to find that we got almost half-way to our goal ($330 - $30 of which is coming by other means) and 11% of our total of $3000. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
