Dear friends, 

I ran for office for the first time in 2017 to build a Palm Springs for all of us, focusing on investing in quality of life amenities and services for all residents, investing in an economy for all of us, investing in solving homelessness and poverty, and investing in progress, like advancing civil rights and fighting climate change. 

Thanks to an entire team building a movement together, we built a grassroots campaign that relied on knocking doors and directly calling voters, directly contacting over 7000 voters, many who said they had never been directly contacted by a candidate for city council before. In November 2017, I was elected to Palm Springs City Council as the youngest woman since the 1950s, the first openly bisexual candidate, and as part of the first all-LGBTQ city council in the nation. 

Serving the people of Palm Springs has been the greatest privilege and joy of my career. We have successfully obtained $10 Million for homelessness from the state budget as the only small city to receive funding, successfully moved to council districts pursuant to the California Voting Rights Act, created new business incentive programs, passed tenant protection ordinances, approved the first affordable housing project in the city in 10 years, and so much more. While we have accomplished so much, there is still so much left to do together. 

I would be honored to serve a second term on Palm Springs City Council. If re-elected, I will be the first ever female mayor and first ever openly bisexual mayor in Palm Springs' 80 year history.
