COVID-19 has affected all of us - including our Congressional candidates. Thanks to the heroic efforts of our county elections officials and poll workers, in-person ballots have been cast and absentee ballots continue to arrive. Now that voting deadlines have passed, the NY-24 race is "too early to call" and deciding results may not be known for weeks.

As Democrats, we share a common goal of defeating Trump-endorsing Rep. John Katko this November. To do this, candidates must be able to fundraise. Between now and November 3rd, our Democratic nominee will need to raise more than $2 million to win. That’s $15,000 per day, every day. Being unable to effectively fundraise while we await official election results could cost our eventual nominee more than $200,000. That is unacceptable—but we can do something about it.

In order to fight back, we are launching the NY-24 Democratic Unity Fund on Crowdpac and calling on all Democrats to contribute. Regardless of your preferred primary candidate, we all need to pull together, support the winner, and donate to defeat Katko. All donations received will be transferred to the eventual Democratic nominee as soon as election results are official. We are proud to co-lead this effort as Democrats representing all four counties of our district.

John Katko has already raised millions of dollars from corporate-backed special interests and his Republican overlords in Washington. He endorsed Donald Trump, an impeached president who has failed to uphold our Central New York values. This is our time to unite as Democrats. The primary is over and now it is our turn to step up and support our eventual Democratic nominee in this time of unprecedented uncertainty. When we are together, we are unstoppable.

When Democrats work together, we are unstoppable. NY-24 is the most flippable Republican-controlled House district in the entire country. With historic turnout for a spirited primary election, it is time for us to turn that energy into unified action and finally win this seat.
