As a result of the high cost of housing and the extreme level of income inequality in this region, many people in Mountain View live in precarious housing situations, struggling to keep up with exorbitant rents or forced to live in RVs. Housing insecurity disproportionately affects members of our community who have been disadvantaged by decades of housing discrimination and racism. Many of these individuals are essential workers who are bearing the brunt of the pandemic while serving our community. Why should we penalize housing insecure individuals? We believe that Mountain View should help our community members find permanent, affordable housing.

We oppose Measure C, a city ballot measure in the November 2020 general election which, if approved, would displace vulnerable individuals and families and increase the number of homeless individuals in our community. Measure C, also known as the "Narrow Streets" ordinance or RV ban, would effectively ban RVs from the city and would exacerbate our housing insecurity crisis to the detriment of our entire community. The need for us to come together and unite in support of the most vulnerable among us has never been more urgent. Please help us defeat this ballot measure. Your financial support will go toward campaign flyers, yard signs and online ads to educate voters in advance of the November election.
