I was the first in my family to attend and graduate from a 4-year university. I attended Fresno State where I studied Political Science and learned some tough lessons in and out of the classroom. I worked minimum wage jobs to put myself through school.
Losing my mother in my junior year exposed to me with stark clarity the profound issues and inequities in our current system of healthcare. Especially for Black, Brown, and low-income families of all races. I understand the burden levied on working people because it is one I have shared.

I carry with me the values my mother worked so hard to cultivate in me. I am running for Congress because I believe my values are shared with the people of my district. We are currently represented by a congressman who doesn’t live in our district. If he doesn’t send his kids to our schools, if he doesn’t drink our water or breathe our air how can he possibly understand the incredible stress people here are feeling and adequately represent us? I am running for the forgotten people in our district. I am running to bring universal healthcare and universal childcare to the people of this district. I am running to bring increased access to affordable higher education. I am running to bring these things and much more. I want to bring the American dream to those in my district who have long seen it as unattainable.
