Johanna Hampton-Dance is running to be the next Worcester City Councilor for District 2. As a member of the City Council, she will fight for the issues that Worcester residents care about most: Housing, Policing, Jobs, and taking care of our Youth and Elderly Neighbors.

Johanna was born in Boston but raised in Worcester. She attended Worcester Public Schools and lived in first a three-decker, then a duplex, and then a single-family home, spending parts of her life residing in many different parts of our city.

As a young adult, she became homeless and pregnant, and then her daughter passed away. She later had a son, who is turning 23 soon, and she worked in customer service and then as home health aid for the disabled and elderly. Johanna started paying attention to politics in the last several years, learning more and having conversations with others, and got into the music business too.

"If you can survive the politics of music, you can survive any kind of politics."

—Johanna on the growth in her political involvement, addressing the Worcester Ward 3 Democrats
