Donating to this slate is the best way you can use your dollars for meaningful criminal justice reform this November.
At the state level, ballot initiatives are the most direct and immediate way to see laws change. Supporters believe these measures will make our justice system more equitable and humane. In California, voters will be able to repeal the death penalty in the state. California voters will also vote on giving judges more discretion on parole for non-violent criminals instead of relying on an out-of-date model.
Oklahoma will reclassify some property and drug offenses as misdemeanors, keeping some non-violent offenders out of jail and making sure that the penalties fit the severity of the crime. The ballot committee is also supporting measure 781, which will direct the savings to rehabilitative programs.
By donating to this slate, you are helping reform our broken criminal justice system.
